Public Works Department approves tender worth Rs 109 crore for 5 roads

00 74 kilometers of road, including bridges, will be constructed in Bijapur, Balodabazar, and Raipur districts.

Raipur. The state government has approved tenders worth Rs. 108 crore 96 lakh for five roads in Bijapur, Balodabazar-Bhatapara, and Raipur districts. This amount will be used to construct a total of 73.86 kilometers of road, including bridges, in all three districts. Deputy Chief Minister and Public Works Minister Shri Arun Saw has directed the concerned executive engineers to complete the work within the contracted timeframe. He has asked them to ensure the construction of all roads and bridges as per the standards, paying special attention to quality.
The Public Works Department has approved a tender of Rs 47 crore 64 lakh for the 42.56 kilometer long Pinkonda to Cherpal road in Bijapur district. 80 bridges and culverts will also be constructed on this route. The department has approved a tender of Rs 11 crore 91 lakh for the construction of the 7 kilometer long Risda bypass road including bridges and culverts in Balodabazar-Bhatapara district.
The Public Works Department has approved a tender of Rs 20 crore 17 lakh for the widening and strengthening of the 9 kilometer long Bhansoj-Barcha-Malidih-Khouli road in Raipur district. This also includes the construction of bridges and culverts on the route. The Public Works Department has also approved tenders worth Rs. 14.81 crore for the construction of the 3.20-kilometer four-lane Gauravpath in Charoda-Dharsiwa village in Raipur, and Rs. 14.43 crore for the asphalt renovation work on the 12.10-kilometer expressway from Raipur Railway Station to Shadani Darbar.
The department has directed the concerned executive engineers to ensure the execution and supervision of the contracted works in accordance with departmental standards. These works will not be sublet to anyone else, and power of attorney will not be valid for the execution of the work. The state government has approved these tenders on the condition that a bank guarantee for the additional performance security amount, valid for the entire duration of the work, is obtained from the contractor before the contract is signed.
