Jagdalpur. Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai transferred more than Rs 10 thousand 328 crore to the accounts of 25 lakh farmers of the state from Bilaspur. Deputy Chief Minister Shri Vijay Sharma also participated in this program virtually from the Aadhan Sahayata Program and Maha Kisan Sammelan organized at Veer Savarkar Bhawan in Jagdalpur.

During this, Deputy Chief Minister Shri Vijay Sharma said that as promised, our government has doubled the joy of farmers' Holi festival by providing a lump sum payment of the difference in the amount of paddy purchased at the support price. The state government is taking initiatives with sensitivity to the interests of farmers and the current budget has also included several farmer-friendly provisions to assist them. This will facilitate farmers' advanced farming practices.

Highlighting prosperity through cooperation, he said that efforts are being made to promote milk production in Bastar, provide all possible support to cooperative societies and women self-help groups for collection and processing of minor forest produce, and improve irrigation resources so that the income of the residents here increases and the economy of Bastar is strengthened. 
Emphasizing the broad participation of the society in the betterment and progress of Bastar, he called upon everyone to work together in this direction. On this occasion, local MLA Shri Kiran Dev, while addressing in Halbi, heartily congratulated the farmers on the festival of Holi and said that due to the decision of our government, there is a festive atmosphere in the families of the farmers and their happiness on Holi has increased. This is a positive farmer-friendly effort of our government.

Jagdalpur Mayor Mr. Sanjay Pandey, Chairman of District Central Cooperative Bank Mr. Dinesh Kashyap, Chairman of Agriculture Standing Committee of District Panchayat Mr. Kamdev Baghel along with other public representatives, Commissioner Mr. Doman Singh, IG Mr. Sundarraj P., Collector Mr. Akash Chikkara, Superintendent of Police Mr. Shalabh Sinha along with officers and employees of the concerned departments and a large number of farmers were present in the district level program organized at Veer Savarkar Bhawan.

According to information received from the District Cooperative Central Bank Limited, Jagdalpur, input assistance of ₹205.95 crore was distributed to 40,667 farmers in Bastar district. In this, incentives at the rate of ₹731 per quintal for coarse rice were transferred directly to farmers' bank accounts. Farmers in the Bakawand and Bastar blocks are receiving the most benefits from this scheme in the district, where ₹67.90 crore and ₹55.78 crore were transferred directly to farmers' bank accounts, respectively.
