Assam swimmers pay courtesy call to Governor Deka, win 9 medals and become first runner-up
Raipur. Swimmers from Assam, who came to participate in the Khelo India Tribal Games 2026 held in Chhattisgarh, paid a courtesy call on Governor Ramen Deka at Lok Bhavan here today. The athletes performed exceptionally well in the competition, winning a total of nine medals and securing the first runner-up position.

Governor Mr. Deka extended his heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to the athletes on their achievement. He stated that such success in sports is achieved through discipline, dedication, and team spirit. The Governor encouraged the athletes to continue their performance and wished them a bright future. Present on the occasion were Assam Swimming Association Joint Secretary Mr. Divya Jyoti Sharma, Technical Officer Mr. Jan Mani Bora, and coaches.
