Raipur. Mayor Meenal Choubey presented a budget of ₹2,130,351,300 for the Raipur Municipal Corporation for the financial year 2026-27. She announced that working women's hostels will be built in Pandri and Naraiya Talab. To curb the rise in crime, 268 cameras were installed in various areas of the city at a cost of ₹140 lakh. A library and youth hostel will be built on the lines of the Nalanda campus. Electronic markets will be built in Shankar Nagar and Doomratari. The corporation will issue a municipal bond of ₹100 crore for this construction. Automated parking will be installed at the municipal headquarters and Pandri. Rajya Sabha MP Laxmi Verma and MLA Purandar Mishra were also present in the guest gallery during the presentation of the Raipur Municipal Corporation budget. Mayor Meenal Choubey and Leader of the Opposition Akash Tiwari welcomed them with bouquets. 

Meanwhile, before the budget was presented, the Congress councilors protested. All the councilors entered the House holding posters of promises, singing "Wada Tera Wada." Chairman Suryakant Rathod expressed his displeasure at this, and a huge uproar ensued. He said that the proceedings could begin only after the placards were put back. Meanwhile, the opposition demanded that the placards be put back only after a discussion on the unfulfilled promises.

Major announcements included in the budget:
* A women's peace home will be established at a cost of ₹5 crore.
* The construction will be aimed at strengthening the mental, physical, and emotional well-being of middle-class women.
* The Kharun Festival will be inaugurated in Raipur city.
* A law festival will be organized annually to promote Raipur's cultural and environmental identity.
* A vending zone for women will be created at the Budha Talab protest site.
* A lift will be installed for senior citizens at the Martyrs' Memorial Complex.
* A robotic suction machine will be purchased for regular cleaning at a cost of ₹1.5 crore.
* A cowshed will be built near Fundhar.
* Two gardens will be beautified in all zones of the capital.
* A utensils bank will be established in every ward.
* Working women's hostels will be built in Pandri and Naraiya Talab.
* 268 cameras have been installed at a cost of ₹140 lakh to curb the rise in crime.
