Chhattisgarh has become a model of speed, transparency and accountability.

Raipur. Under the guidance of Chief Minister Shri Vishnudev Sai and Deputy Chief Minister Shri Vijay Sharma, Chhattisgarh has achieved remarkable success in rural housing construction, completing more than 600,000 houses in the current financial year 2025-26. This is the highest number of housing construction in the country this year.

This achievement was made possible through the strong and coordinated implementation of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Gramin, Pradhan Mantri Janman Yojana, and Mukhyamantri Awas Yojana. This has enabled the state to emerge as an effective model in the field of housing construction. To rapidly realize the goal of housing for all, 18 lakh houses were approved in the first cabinet decision of the current government. Currently, all eligible beneficiaries included in the survey list have been covered, ensuring that no eligible family is deprived of housing.

In the financial year 2025-26, 5.87 lakh houses were completed under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Gramin, 13 thousand under the Pradhan Mantri Janman Awas Yojana, and more than 10 thousand under the Chief Minister's Housing Scheme. Effective coordination of the schemes has surpassed the target of more than 6 lakh houses. This achievement marks the highest number of houses completed in a single financial year in the state since the scheme's launch in 2016, reflecting swift implementation and effective monitoring.

Housing construction has also brought new momentum to the rural economy. Under the Dealer Didi model, more than 9,000 women self-help group members have become economically empowered by supplying housing construction materials and becoming Lakhpati Didis. Thousands of women self-help groups have also gained livelihood opportunities. Additionally, more than 6,000 masons have been trained, including over 1,200 Rani Mistris. Surrendered Naxalites have also been linked to this initiative, providing them with opportunities for respectable livelihoods.

To ensure transparency and accountability, the toll-free number 18002331290 is operational. Over the past 10 months, it has received over 1,500 complaints and suggestions, which have been promptly resolved. On the 7th of every month, Housing Day is held in all Gram Panchayats to address grassroots issues. Additionally, information is readily available at the Gram Panchayat level through a QR code-based information system. This Chhattisgarh model is no longer limited to housing construction, but is also establishing itself as an effective initiative towards women's empowerment, employment generation, inclusive development, and transparency.
