Raipur. Administrative turmoil has intensified in Mungeli. District Panchayat CEO Vikram Singh Thakur has been abruptly removed from his post and returned to his original position. Santosh Kumar Ghosale has been given the responsibility in his place.

On paper, it is being described as a normal transfer, but his removal in just 3 months has created a heated discussion in the entire district.

At the local level, this decision is being linked to the Devgaon Panchayat dispute. The dispute, complaints, and accusations between the Sarpanch and the CEO had already heated up the situation.

Although the administration has not accepted these allegations as the reason for the transfer, but there are reports of internal dissatisfaction, lack of coordination and differences regarding work.

This sudden decision is now being seen as “damage control”, which clearly indicates that the administration is now in a tough mood.
