Under the first phase of Census 2026 in Chhattisgarh state, the work of house listing and house counting will be done from 1st to 30th May 2026, whereas the process of self-enumeration will be completed from 16th to 30th April 2026. For the successful conduct of this important work, awareness and active cooperation of the general public has been considered extremely essential. In this sequence, the administration has directed the concerned officials to ensure maximum use of the available free publicity mediums to increase awareness among the common citizens about the census.

Instructions have been given to use the following major mediums for publicity:

Broadcasting of census related messages and jingles through audio systems installed in garbage collection vehicles of municipal bodies.

Display of videos and slogans related to census on LED displays and notice boards of government offices and institutions.

Broadcasting of awareness messages through public address systems available at major traffic signals and intersections.

Effective use of local cable networks and district level official social media platforms.

Display of print ads and hoardings at schools, bus stops, gram panchayats and other public places.

The administration has directed that publicity activities related to self-enumeration should be conducted on priority from April 16 to 30, 2026, and publicity activities related to houselisting and house counting should be conducted from May 1 to 30, 2026. Keeping the stipulated time period in mind, it has been said that prompt action in this direction is necessary. Slogans, videos, jingles/audios and other publicity material related to the census have been made available on a Google Drive link, using which officials can ensure effective publicity. The administration has appealed to the general public to cooperate in the census work and provide correct and complete information, so that accurate data can be used in the formulation of development plans.
