Raipur . The strict police campaign for road safety is continuing in Raipur. In a special action against drunk drivers, the traffic police caught 165 drivers in a major campaign on the night of April 12.

The traffic police under Raipur Police Commissionerate conducted a special checking campaign at 9 different places in the city on the instructions of Deputy Commissioner of Police Vikas Kumar. During this, action was taken against drunk drivers under Section 185 of the Motor Vehicle Act.

According to the police, more than 2,300 drunk drivers have been prosecuted since January this year. In each case, the court has imposed a minimum fine of 10,000 rupees.The traffic police clarified that this campaign is not being conducted to achieve any specific goal, but rather to reduce road accidents and ensure the safety of civilian lives. A "zero tolerance" policy has been adopted for drunk driving.The police have appealed to citizens to follow traffic rules and avoid drunk driving. They also urged them to refrain from making any recommendations or calls regarding such matters to ensure strict enforcement of the law.
