Jashpurnagar.  As per the instructions of the Director, Social Welfare Directorate, Chhattisgarh Raipur, under the important and ambitious Atal Vayo Abhyudaya Yojana of the Government of India, a total of 54 senior citizens from Farsabahar, Bagicha district area and Janak Vriddhaashram Jashpur were selected for cataract operation. Out of which cataract operation of 06 senior citizens was successfully done on 22 March at the IPD located in Raipur. Similarly, spectacles were provided to 01 senior citizen and operation of 01 senior citizen was not done due to BP and sugar.            

In this series, on 25 March 2026, under Bagicha district, 13 beneficiaries were welcomed by public representatives with garlands and shawls and sent to AIIMS Raipur for cataract operation. Out of which Deori Bai 72 years, Rajpati 65 years, Malti Devi 66 years, Muneshwari 66 years, Lakshmaniya Bai 71 years, Khuduram 65 years, Petra 71 years, Kuvar 66 years were successfully operated and Kaushalya Bai 71 years, Kapoor Ram 74 years and Charan Ram 65 years were not operated due to BP and diabetes.

Thus, under the Atal Vayo Abhyudaya Yojana, 12 senior citizens underwent successful cataract surgery at AIIMS Raipur, and two received spectacles. Currently, all of them are receiving follow-up at the District Hospital, Jashpur.
