Jashpurnagar .   Under the National Horticulture Mission and State Scheme, financial assistance is being provided to a total of 20 farmers of Jashpur district to promote beekeeping. The main objective of this scheme is to increase the income of farmers, promote employment generation and increase production through pollination of crops. Under the scheme, beneficiaries are being provided a subsidy of Rs. 1600 for bee box with bee colony, Rs. 800 for beehive and Rs. 8000 for honey extraction machine.

Beekeeping doesn't require much land. Farmers can easily adopt it alongside their farming. Government funding for beekeeping is strengthening the sector.
