There will be no laxity in construction quality – Chief Minister Shri Vishnudev Sai

Strict stand on Dadhi (Bemetara) CC Road case: Collector directed to investigate the matter and take strict action against the culprits

Raipur, May 2, 2026/ Chief Minister Shri Vishnudev Sai has taken immediate cognizance of the news published regarding the damage to a recently constructed concrete road in the Nagar Panchayat Dadhi area of ​​Bemetara district within a short period of time. He has clearly stated that any laxity or negligence in the quality of development work is completely unacceptable.

Chief Minister Shri Sai, in a telephone conversation with Bemetara Collector Pratishtha Mamgain, directed her to ensure a detailed and timely investigation of the entire matter. He said that the relevant concrete road should be technically examined to assess its actual condition, and a comprehensive investigation should be conducted into the materials used in construction, the quality of the work, and the supervision system.

The Chief Minister directed that if the investigation reveals deficiencies in quality, violations of standards, or any irregularities, strict punitive action should be taken against the contractor and responsible officials as per the rules. Furthermore, the damaged road should be promptly reconstructed to provide safe and easy transportation for the public.

Chief Minister Mr. Sai also directed that other construction projects underway in the district be specifically reviewed to prevent similar situations from occurring elsewhere. He stated that ensuring quality, transparency, and accountability in construction projects is the administration's core responsibility, and that compromises on this front will not be tolerated at any level.

Chief Minister Shri Sai clarified that accountability will be fixed and action will be mandatory against those found negligent in public works. He directed that the reliability and sustainability of development works should be ensured through continuous monitoring, field inspections, and effective quality control mechanisms, to further strengthen public confidence.

Chief Minister Shri Sai said that the intention of our government is clear – quality, transparency and accountability should be ensured in every work of public interest.

It is noteworthy that Chief Minister Shri Vishnudev Sai has given instructions to strengthen the monitoring and quality control of construction works across the state so that the common citizens can get the benefit of safe, durable and reliable infrastructure.
