After winning a Lok Sabha seat for the first time in 2024, the BJP is expected to secure a second Assembly seat. A UDF victory, however, would see the Congress consolidate its position in South India.

Kerala will have its third Chief Minister after Telangana and Karnataka. Himachal Pradesh is the only state ruled by Congress. Given the anti-incumbency wave against the 10-year-old Vijayan government, the UDF is projected to win.

New political equations are being seen in Tamil Nadu

Tamil Nadu may witness new political equations. Following Jayalalithaa's death, the AIADMK's marginalization may continue. The BJP will have to reconsider its strategy of strengthening the NDA with the help of the AIADMK.

However, the only Axis My India exit poll predicts a TVK victory. If the party falls short of a majority, the Congress could abandon the DMK and join forces with the TVK.

If necessary, the AIADMK could also join forces with the TVK to keep Chief Minister Stalin out of power. Parties within the AIADMK and DMK alliances may also be forced to find new destinations based on the results.
