414 development works inaugurated and foundation stones laid; education, health, road and water facilities to receive new expansion

Sensitivity and good governance are the main concepts of development: Chief Minister Shri Vishnudev Sai

Raipur / Under the state-wide Good Governance Festival 2026, Mungeli district witnessed a historic chapter of development, public welfare and good governance today. Chief Minister Shri Vishnudev Sai, while attending the district-level public problem resolution camp organized at Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Stadium in the district headquarters, gifted 414 development works worth more than Rs 353 crore 58 lakh to the district. These include the inauguration of 284 works worth more than Rs 152 crore 02 lakh and the foundation stone laying of 130 works worth more than Rs 201 crore 56 lakh. These works will provide new strength to the infrastructure, education, health, roads, drinking water and public facilities in the district.

Union Minister of State Shri Tokhan Sahu, Deputy Chief Minister Shri Arun Saw, Minister in charge of Commerce and Industry, Labour and District Shri Lakhanlal Devangan, Bilha MLA Shri Dharamlal Kaushik, Mungeli MLA Shri Punnulal Mohle, Takhatpur MLA Shri Dharamjeet Singh, Beltara MLA Shri Sushant Shukla, District Panchayat President Shri Shrikant Pandey, Municipal Council President Shri Rohit Shukla and many public representatives were present in the program.

During the programme, Chief Minister Shri Sai inaugurated several road construction works including Pushp Vatika and Chowpatty, canal, anicut, Livelihood College building approach road, Mungeli-Bhatgaon approach road, Mahtari Sadans, hostels, Jal Jeevan Mission works, community buildings, Atal Digital Facilitation Centres, primary school buildings, cultural platforms, CC roads, Amrit Sarovars and Anganwadi buildings. Along with this, the foundation stone of several development works including CC road, community health centre, urban primary health centre, road, STP construction, pond beautification, footpath and bridge construction was also laid in various villages. The Chief Minister also virtually inaugurated Swami Atmanand Vidyalayas in Motipur, Lalpur Thana, Lormi, Patharia and Sargaon under the Chief Minister's Education Quality Campaign.

Addressing the program, Chief Minister Shri Vishnudev Sai said that the Good Governance Government is working with development and public welfare as the highest priority. He said that this major gift of development works received by Mungeli district today will provide new impetus to the district's development in the coming times. The Chief Minister said that through Good Governance Festival, quick, transparent, timely and effective resolution of the problems of the common people is being ensured and action is also being taken against those who are negligent in resolving complaints.

On this occasion, Chief Minister Shri Sai unveiled the statues of Mata Karma, the symbol of devotion and labour, Baba Guru Ghasidas, the symbol of social harmony, Baba Saheb Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar, the architect of the Constitution, and Maharana Pratap, the symbol of valour and sacrifice, and said that these great men are role models who inspire the society. He announced Rs 25 lakh for the installation of the statue of warrior queen Rani Durgavati on Navagarh Road, construction of post-matric hostel building in Mungeli, Rs 20 lakh for the construction of boundary wall and entrance gate in Mela Navagaon, and Rs 10 lakh for the construction of a concrete road. He also gave a positive assurance to fulfil the demand for a medical college.

Union Minister of State Shri Tokhan Sahu, while congratulating the Chief Minister for the gift of development works worth more than Rs 353 crore to the district, said that development and good governance are getting a new direction in the state.
