Himanta Biswa Sarma becomes Chief Minister of Assam for the second consecutive term

Himanta Biswa Sarma has become the Chief Minister of Assam for the second consecutive term. Assam Governor Laxman Acharya administered the oath of office and secrecy to him at the Khanapara Veterinary College Ground in Guwahati.

Besides Himanta, four other MLAs—Rameshwar Teli and Ajanta Neom of the BJP, Atul Bora of the AGP, and Charan Boro of the BPF—were sworn in as ministers. Two of them are from the BJP and two from allies.

Prime Minister Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, Chief Ministers of BJP-NDA-ruled states, and several Union ministers were present at the swearing-in ceremony. Himanta's entire family was also present.
