Prime Minister's Free Solar Home Scheme became a source of relief and savings for Mr. Sonsay Bakde

Monthly electricity bills of ₹4,000-5,000 have been reduced to ₹120-500, with a subsidy of ₹1,08,000 from the central and state governments.

The central government's ambitious Pradhan Mantri Surya Ghar Muft Yojana is bringing positive changes to the lives of rural families and ordinary citizens. An inspiring example is Mr. Sonsay Bakde, a resident of Manjhiguda in Bijapur district, whose life has been brought new light and financial relief by this scheme. Once worried about the hefty monthly electricity bill, Mr. Bakde is now not only saving significantly on electricity costs through solar energy but also enjoying uninterrupted power supply.

Mr. Sonsay Bakde explains that his household electricity bill previously reached approximately 4,000 to 5,000 rupees per month. Rising electricity costs impacted the family's monthly budget, and even paying the bill sometimes became challenging. Amidst the ever-rising expenses, he learned about the Pradhan Mantri Surya Ghar Muft Yojana. After learning about the scheme's benefits and the government subsidy, he decided to install solar panels in his home.

Under the scheme, Mr. Bakde received a total subsidy of ₹1.8 lakh (18,000 rupees) from the central and state governments. With this assistance, solar panels were installed in his home. These solar panels, installed approximately three months ago, are now providing his home with a regular and adequate electricity supply.

The biggest relief has been that while the monthly electricity bill used to be thousands of rupees, it has now dropped to just 120 to 500 rupees. This has provided significant financial support to the family. Now, there's no longer the worry of additional expenses when using electricity for household needs.

Mr. Bakde says that switching to solar energy has not only resulted in financial savings, but has also significantly alleviated problems like power outages and erratic supply. His family is now able to use fans, TVs, motors, and other household appliances without any problems.

Describing the Prime Minister's Free Solar Home Scheme as extremely beneficial for ordinary citizens, especially rural families, he appealed to the district residents to take advantage of this scheme in large numbers. He believes that this scheme is not limited to reducing electricity bills, but is an important initiative towards clean energy, environmental protection, and a self-reliant India.

Expressing his heartfelt gratitude to Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh Shri Vishnu Dev Sai for this scheme, Shri Sonsai Bakde said that this initiative of the government is bringing real change in the lives of common people and is infusing new energy of development in rural areas.
