Union Home Minister Shri Amit Shah tasted the tamarind of Bastar and said that the taste of tamarind here is not sour but sweet.
Raipur, May 18. Union Home and Cooperation Minister Shri Amit Shah visited the CRPF camp in Netanar village of Bastar district on Monday. Here, he inaugurated the Shaheed Veer Gundadhur Seva Dera (Public Facilitation Center).
Shri Amit Shah learned from the women of the self-help group undergoing training at the tamarind processing center how they are increasing their income by selling tamarind. Shri Shah tasted the tamarind from Bastar and remarked that the tamarind here is very sweet.
Mrs. Lambi Nag of the group explained that by joining this group, she could earn up to ₹1 lakh annually. Women in the Gundadhur women's self-help group are processing tamarind and producing high-quality tamarind pulp.
He visited the Seva Setu Center and met Mrs. Sukhdevi, a resident of Netanar village. Sukhdevi explained that she had just got an Aadhaar card made for her five-month-old daughter, Padma. Before the Aadhaar Seva Kendra opened, she had to walk 10 kilometers to Nangur. Now, villagers will be able to access services like a new Aadhaar card, Aadhaar update, KYC, mobile number update, and e-Aadhaar. At the Seva Setu Center, Mrs. Sonamoni explained that she had been wanting to get her eKYC done for the Mahatari Vandan Yojana for a long time, but was unable to go due to the long distance. Since the center opened in the village, she completed her eKYC today. It is noteworthy that villagers will be able to avail various types of online certificates here. Birth, income, and caste certificates can be easily created in one place. Women are also being trained as Bank Sakhis at this center. Through Bank Sakhis, women will be able to access services like depositing and withdrawing money, opening self-help group accounts, KYC, updating mobile numbers in bank accounts, and SHG credit linkage within the village.
Shri Amit Shah also met with women undergoing training at the Sewing Training Center. Women are trained in basic and advanced sewing here. Ms. Vijay Kumari said that after learning sewing here, they will be able to support their families well.
Home Minister Shri Amit Shah also interacted with rural women at the Paddy Deki Training Center. This will not only increase the income of rural women through the sale of rice, but the resulting rice husk will also provide nutritious food for animals.
Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai, Deputy Chief Minister Shri Vijay Sharma, Chief Secretary Shri Vikasshiil and other dignitaries were present on this occasion.
