Cooperative Commissioner Directs Launch of Mobile and Internet Banking Services
Raipur, Chhattisgarh, 10 Sep 2020 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Commissioner of Cooperatives and Registrar of Cooperative Societies, Chhattisgarh, Shri Mahadev Kaware, held a review meeting to expand modern banking facilities in the state's urban cooperative banks. Representatives from 12 urban cooperative banks across the state attended the
meeting. The Cooperative Commissioner directed all banks to actively participate in innovative initiatives launched by the Ministry of Cooperation, Government of India. He stated that services such as mobile banking, internet banking, and AEPS (Aadhaar-based payment system) should be implemented to provide better and easier banking services to customers.
The Cooperative Commissioner also directed banks to join the umbrella organization formed to provide technical support and expand modern banking services. This will help banks adopt new technology and provide better customer services.

At the meeting, Mr. Sumit Hans, an official with the Umbrella Organization in New Delhi, provided detailed information to banks about the benefits and available services of joining the organization. He explained that this will enable cooperative banks to rapidly implement digital banking services.

On this occasion, Vyapar Sahakari Bank Raipur, Nagrik Sahakari Bank Raipur, Laxmi Nagrik Sahakari Bank Raipur, Raipur Urban Mercantile Co-op Bank, cooperative banks from Durg, Bhilai, Bilaspur, Raigarh, Mahasamund, Ambikapur and Jagdalpur participated.
Cooperative Commissioner Mr. Kavre directed all banks to complete the necessary procedures within the stipulated timeframe. This initiative will promote digital services in the state's cooperative banks and provide more convenient banking services to customers.
