Appeal to farmers to adopt alternatives like Nano Urea-Blue Green Algae

At present, 9.29 lakh metric tonnes of various types of chemical fertilizers are available in the state.

Central government allocates target of 15.55 lakh metric tonnes of fertilizer to Chhattisgarh

Raipur, Keeping in mind the possibility of supply of imported fertilizers being affected due to tension in West Asia, the state government is preparing a comprehensive strategy to ensure fertilizer supply. At present, 9.29 lakh metric tonnes of various types of chemical fertilizers are available in the warehouses and societies in the state. Whereas, due to the efforts of Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai, Chhattisgarh has been allotted a target of 15.55 lakh metric tonnes of fertilizers for this Kharif season by the Central Government. The state government is also working on a strategy to store the stock of liquid Nano DAP and Nano Urea in parallel so that the paddy sowing and production of the farmers is not affected.

Meanwhile, the Chhattisgarh government is promoting modern and scientific techniques in agriculture, encouraging farmers to use Nano DAP fertilizer. Under the campaign "One Step Towards Agricultural Revolution," Nano DAP is being promoted among farmers as an advanced liquid fertilizer containing phosphorus and nitrogen, enabling higher and balanced production at lower costs.

According to information received from the Agriculture Department, the use of Nano DAP will provide farmers with balanced nutrition, better results, and promote environmentally friendly farming. It will also reduce dependence on solid DAP and increase the efficiency of fertilizer use. Departmental data suggests that the use of Nano DAP can reduce costs compared to using conventional DAP in an acre. While 50 kg of DAP costs approximately ₹1,350, the combined use of 25 kg of DAP and 500 ml of Nano DAP costs approximately ₹1,275.

The Agriculture Department has also told the farmers the scientific method of using Nano DAP. In the first phase, it has been advised to use 25 kg DAP or 75 kg single super phosphate or 38 kg 12-32-16 mixed fertilizer as base fertilizer. In the second phase, for seed treatment, it has been informed to mix 150 ml Nano DAP in 3 liters of water and for plant treatment, it has been informed to mix 250 ml Nano DAP in 50 liters of water and treat the roots of the plants. In the third phase, about 30 days after planting the crop, it has been advised to mix 250 ml Nano DAP in 125 liters of water and spray it on the standing crop.

Minister Netam stated that in view of the potential shortage of chemical fertilizers due to the West Asian crisis, the department is encouraging farmers to use alternative fertilizers. As part of this effort, the availability of NPK 12:32:16, 20:20:0:13, green manure, organic fertilizers, and nano fertilizers is being increased.

Agriculture Minister Shri Netam informed that due to the efforts of Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai, Chhattisgarh has been allocated a target of 15.55 lakh metric tons of fertilizer by the Central Government for the upcoming Kharif season 2026. This includes 7.25 lakh metric tons of urea, 3 lakh metric tons of DAP, 80 thousand metric tons of MOP, 2.5 lakh metric tons of NPK and 2 lakh metric tons of SSP. Currently, approximately 9.29 lakh metric tons of fertilizer is available in the state's warehouses and committees. The state government is striving to ensure that all farmers are allocated adequate quantities of chemical fertilizer with transparency.

Agriculture Production Commissioner Mr. Siddharth Komal Singh Pardeshi said that instructions have been given to form flying squads and monitoring committees at the district level to stop black marketing and hoarding of fertilizers. Strict legal action will be taken against those involved in fertilizer malpractices at any level. He informed that procurement of pulses and oilseeds crops has also been given priority under the Pradhan Mantri Annadata Aay Sanrakshan Abhiyan (Price Support Scheme). Along with promoting the production of aromatic rice varieties in every district, instructions have been given to expand pulses-oilseeds crops and oil palm, makhana and spice crops in the horticulture sector.

He said that the state government has appealed to the farmers to adopt scientific methods of using Nano DAP and adopt modern techniques in fertilizer management, so that along with increasing agricultural production, the cost of farming can also be reduced.
