4.17 crore approved for dam and canal works of Badra reservoir
Raipur. The Chhattisgarh government's Water Resources Department has approved ₹41.7 million (417.75 million rupees) for the renovation of the dam and canal of the Badra Reservoir in Sonhat, a development block in Koriya district. Upon completion of the proposed works under the scheme, farmers in the area will have access to irrigation facilities over 355 hectares. This will increase the production of both Kharif and Rabi crops and help increase farmers' income.
Administrative approval has been granted to the Chief Engineer, Hasdeo Ganga Basin, Water Resources Department, Ambikapur, to carry out the work under the scheme. The department has directed the work to be completed within the stipulated timeframe and in a quality manner. The renovation of the Badra Reservoir will promote water conservation in the area and is also expected to improve groundwater levels.
