Good Governance Festival: An innovative campaign to strengthen the trust between the government and the public: Tokhan Sahu
Raipur - Union Minister of State for Housing and Urban Affairs Tokhan Sahu and Deputy Chief Minister and District In-charge Minister Shri Arun Sahu today attended the district-level Urban Solution Camp organized at Putribai School Community Hall in Bilaspur under the Good Governance Festival. On this occasion, Union Minister of State Shri Tokhan Sahu said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai, work is being done to take good governance and development to the last person in the state. There will be no shortage of resources for the development of Bilaspur. Deputy Chief Minister Shri Arun Sahu said in the camp that accountability to the public is the real good governance. Good Governance Festival has further strengthened people's trust in the government. Large-scale development work is continuously being carried out to develop the judicial capital Bilaspur in accordance with its identity and dignity.
In the program, the guests performed the ground breaking ceremony of road, drain and pitching work from Arpa Ram Setu to Shanichari Rapta at a cost of Rs 12 crore 95 lakh under the Chief Minister Nagarotthan Yojana and RCC box construction work from Kundan Palace to the bus stand via Sahare Gali at a cost of Rs 5 crore 55 lakh. These development works costing a total of more than Rs 18 crore 50 lakh will strengthen the city's infrastructure and provide better facilities to the citizens. In the program, the guests visited the stalls set up by various departments and also benefited the beneficiaries of public welfare schemes.
Chief Guest, Union Minister of State for Housing and Urban Affairs, Shri Tokhan Sahu, said that Good Governance Festival is an innovative campaign to further strengthen trust between the government and the public. Under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai, the state government is ensuring that the benefits of government schemes reach the last person in society. Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi's promises are being rapidly implemented. The state is setting new standards of development. He directed officials to ensure sensitivity and accountability should be top priority in implementing schemes, so that no eligible beneficiary is deprived of government benefits. Shri Sahu said that Bilaspur is rapidly emerging as a developing judicial capital. The construction of four-lane roads, efforts towards airport expansion, and the selection of Kopra Reservoir as a Ramsar site reflect the region's growing importance. He stated that the central and state governments are working together to accelerate development efforts. Every necessary support will be provided for the overall development of Bilaspur.
Presiding over the program, Deputy Chief Minister and District In-Charge Minister Shri Arun Sao stated that the timely resolution of public problems and the increased trust in the government are the greatest achievements of Good Governance Festival. Good Governance Festival has created an effective medium of communication between the government and the public, prioritizing projects that meet public expectations. He stated that the state government is continuously working to develop Bilaspur, the judicial capital, in accordance with its current identity. Over the past two years, development projects worth over ₹412.57 crore have been approved and implemented in the district. He stated that this pace of development will continue, and the judicial capital will be included among the most developed cities in the state. Shri Sao announced a grant of ₹20 lakh for the construction of a boundary wall and toilets at the Putribai Community Hall.
