The Chief Minister handed over Tata Magic vehicles to the Bihan Didi's under the Aajeevika Grameen Express Scheme.
Women's economic self-reliance will get a new boost, transportation facilities will be strengthened in rural areas
Raipur: During the district level public problem resolution camp organized in village Cherpal under Sushasan Tihar 2026, Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai, taking an important initiative towards economic empowerment of women under the National Rural Livelihood Mission (Bihar), handed over the keys of Tata Magic passenger vehicles to 8 cluster level organizations of development blocks Kuakonda and Katekalyan under Aajeevika Grameen Express Yojana (AGEY). The Chief Minister flagged off the vehicles and wished the women of self-help groups a bright future by wishing them well.
On this occasion, officials informed that the objective of the Aajeevika Grameen Express scheme is to create new livelihood opportunities in rural areas and strengthen transportation facilities in remote areas. A grant of approximately ₹5 lakh has been provided for each Tata Magic vehicle provided under the scheme. Operating these vehicles will provide a regular source of income for women associated with self-help groups and will also strengthen the rural transportation system.
Bihan Mission is engaged in strengthening the livelihood of more than 41 thousand families.
It was reported during the program that extensive efforts are being made to economically empower women in the district through the National Rural Livelihood Mission (Bihar). Currently, 41,110 families in the district have been linked to self-employment and income-enhancing activities through self-help groups. The women in the groups are increasing their incomes through agriculture-based activities, animal husbandry, small-scale enterprises, forest produce processing, and various livelihood activities, and are moving towards self-reliance.
Connectivity between villages and cities will increase, women will get a permanent source of income.
The operation of these vehicles, provided by the Chief Minister, will provide accessible, safe, and affordable transportation to people living in rural areas. This will improve connectivity between remote villages and markets, health institutions, educational centers, and the district headquarters. Furthermore, women will receive regular income through vehicle operation and management, further strengthening the economic condition of their families.
Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai said that the state government is continuously striving to empower women with self-reliance. Women in self-help groups are emerging as a strong foundation of the rural economy. He added that through various government schemes, women are being provided employment, self-employment, and entrepreneurship opportunities, empowering them economically and playing a vital role in the development of society.
The women present at the event expressed their gratitude to the Chief Minister, saying that the Aajeevika Rural Express Scheme will not only provide them with employment opportunities but also open a new avenue for public service in rural areas. This initiative will prove to be an important step towards women's economic empowerment and rural development.
