Chief Minister Shri Vishnudev Sai inspected the under-construction Nalanda campus and education hub in Bilaspur.
The Rs 120 crore project will provide the best facilities for study, housing and competitive exam preparation to the youth.
Bilaspur to become state's premier education hub: Youth's dreams to take flight
Raipur: Chief Minister Shri Vishnudev Sai, during his visit to Bilaspur today under the Sushasan Tihar 2026, inspected the Nalanda Campus and Education Hub under construction in Madhuban-Juna Bilaspur area and took stock of the progress of the project. While observing the construction works, he directed the officials to complete the work with quality and timeliness. Chief Minister Shri Sai said that this project will open new doors of opportunities for the youth of the state and will establish Bilaspur as a major center of education and competitive exam preparation.
On this occasion, Union Minister of State for Housing and Urban Affairs Shri Tokhan Sahu, Deputy Chief Minister Shri Arun Sao, MLAs Shri Amar Agarwal, Shri Dharamlal Kaushik, Shri Sushant Shukla, District Panchayat President Shri Rajesh Suryavanshi, Mayor Mrs. Pooja Vidhani, Secretary to the Chief Minister Shri P. Dayanand, Special Secretary Shri Rajat Bansal, Divisional Commissioner Shri Sunil Jain, Inspector General of Police Shri Ramgopal Garg, Collector Shri Sanjay Agarwal, Senior Superintendent of Police Shri Rajnesh Singh along with public representatives and senior officers were present.
It is noteworthy that a large number of students come to Bilaspur every year to prepare for CGPSC, UPSC, NEET, JEE, SSC, Banking, Vyapam, and other competitive exams. To provide these students with a safe, well-organized, and modern study environment, a state-of-the-art education hub is being developed on approximately 13 acres of government land at a cost of Rs 120 crore.
Under the project, the Nalanda Digital Public Library, 300-seater boys' and girls' hostels, a modern academic block, and other facilities tailored to students' needs are being constructed. The availability of study, housing, and educational resources within a single campus will provide an excellent environment for students preparing for competitive examinations. This will particularly benefit students from various districts of the state.
Officials said that 48 large rental halls are also being constructed on the campus. This will create a long-term and sustainable source of income for the Municipal Corporation. This project, being developed under the PPP model, will be financially self-sustaining and will not impose any additional financial burden on the Municipal Corporation.
During the inspection, Chief Minister Shri Vishnudev Sai stated that quality education plays a vital role in building a developed Chhattisgarh. The state government is continuously working to provide the youth with better resources, modern infrastructure, and a competitive environment. He stated that the Nalanda Campus and Education Hub is not just a building project, but a knowledge center that will give new direction to the dreams and aspirations of the youth.
The Chief Minister expressed confidence that after the project's completion, Bilaspur will be recognized not only in the state but also nationally as a leading educational and competitive exam preparation center. This education hub will provide better opportunities to thousands of students and lay a strong foundation for their bright futures.
