Bilaspur gets development works worth over Rs 134 crore on Good Governance Festival

28th installment of Mahatari Vandan released, foundation stone laid for modern rehabilitation centers for the elderly and disabled

Raipur/Chief Minister Shri Vishnudev Sai has said that good governance, development, and public welfare are the state government's working style and identity. The government's goal is not just to create schemes, but to ensure their benefits reach the last person in society.

Chief Minister Shri Sai attended the district-level Samadhan Camp held in Hemunagar today as part of the Good Governance Festival. On this occasion, he inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for various development works worth over ₹134 crore, released the 28th installment of the Mahatari Vandan Yojana, and made several important announcements for the benefit of the public.

Chief Minister Shri Sai distributed motorized tricycles to 80 disabled people at the event. The beneficiaries' faces lit up with joy upon receiving the tricycles. He stated that the government's sensitive policies aim not only to provide assistance, but also to provide people with a self-reliant and dignified life. He also symbolically handed over the keys to their homes to beneficiaries of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana.

Chief Minister Shri Sai laid the foundation stone for a 200-seater multipurpose old-age home, to be constructed at a cost of Rs 22.65 crore from SECL's Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). The building will provide senior citizens with modern facilities such as naturopathy, yoga, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, and holistic rehabilitation. He said that the elderly are society's invaluable asset, and the government is constantly striving to ensure their dignified lives.

Similarly, the Chief Minister laid the foundation stone for a 500-seater Disabled Education, Training, and Multipurpose Rehabilitation Center, to be built at a cost of ₹18.76 crore. This center will provide comprehensive facilities for education, skill development, physiotherapy, speech therapy, auditory training, and rehabilitation to persons with disabilities. This will empower them to become self-reliant and provide them with better employment and self-employment opportunities.

The Chief Minister also inaugurated a state-of-the-art CT scan machine installed at the District Hospital at a cost of approximately ₹45 million. He said this would enable local diagnosis of serious and complex illnesses, providing patients with better, faster, and more accessible healthcare.

In his address, the Chief Minister stated that Good Governance Festival is not merely a campaign, but a means to strengthen trust between the government and the public. He added that the benefits of various public welfare schemes, including the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana and the Mahatari Vandan Yojana, are effectively reaching eligible beneficiaries.

The Chief Minister said that with the guidance of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, the valor of the security forces, and the cooperation of the people of Bastar, decisive success is being achieved against Naxalism. Basic amenities like roads, electricity, education, health, and drinking water are now rapidly expanding in Bastar. The government is working with full commitment to build a developed Chhattisgarh.

He stated that consumers are being provided relief through the Chief Minister's Electricity Bill Solution Scheme. Furthermore, under e-District, more than 400 government services have been made available online. The Chief Minister's Helpline will also be launched soon to ensure timely resolution of public problems.

Union Minister of State for Housing and Urban Affairs, Shri Tokhan Sahu, said that Good Governance Festival is the result of Chief Minister Shri Vishnudev Sai's visionary thinking. Every effort made for the welfare of the people and to solve their problems is a strong example of good governance. He mentioned the efforts being made to expand Bilaspur Airport, develop railway infrastructure, and strengthen the Arpa Project.
