District administration on alert before monsoon session, ban on leave for government employees, strictness on leaving headquarters also

Raipur.  In view of the monsoon session of the Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly to be held from 13 to 17 July 2026, the Manendragarh-Chirmiri-Bharatpur (MCB) district administration has come on full alert mode. Collector and District Magistrate Santan Devi Jangde has issued a major administrative order to provide timely and factual answers to questions related to the district in the Legislative Assembly and to ensure smooth functioning of administrative work. Under the order, all types of leave of all government officers and employees of the district have been banned with immediate effect. Also, all officers and employees have been instructed to be present at their respective headquarters compulsorily.

The order issued by the Collector clarifies that information related to any department can be requested at the government level at any time during the Assembly session. Therefore, officers and employees of all departments should be available at the headquarters so that necessary information can be made available in a timely manner and accurate and authentic answers can be given to questions asked in the Assembly. The administration believes that negligence or delay at any level during the Assembly session could impact government operations, hence this arrangement has been implemented.

According to the order, if an officer or employee needs to take leave or leave headquarters for urgent or unavoidable reasons, prior permission from the head of the concerned office will be mandatory. Mere verbal notice will not suffice; permission to leave or leave headquarters will be granted only after receiving written approval from the concerned department head or office head. In the event of leaving headquarters or going on leave without permission, action can be taken against the concerned officer or employee as per rules.

The Collector has instructed all department heads to complete necessary preparations in their offices in advance, update pending information and records, and ensure prompt compliance with all government directives during the Assembly session. All departments have been instructed to work in coordination with each other and provide any information within the stipulated timeframe.

The district administration states that the government's priority during the Assembly session is to provide factual, authentic, and timely answers to all questions related to the district. To this end, this order has been implemented with immediate effect. The administration has clarified that until the Assembly session concludes, all officers and employees will remain present at their headquarters and perform government duties with full responsibility.
