CHHATTISGARH: Urban gift worth Rs 104 crore!
Raipur. There's good news for urban local bodies in Raipur. The state government has released ₹104.54 billion (104.4 million 542.5 thousand) for municipal corporations, municipalities, and town councils. This amount will accelerate the construction of roads, sewers, electricity, water, and other essential services in cities and towns
Following the approval of Deputy Chief Minister and Urban Administration Minister Arun Sao, this amount has been released as Mayor's Fund, Chairman's Fund, and Councilor Fund. The government has clearly stated that the money should be spent only on public development and basic amenities.
As the first installment for the financial year 2026-27, 50% of the Mayor and Chairman's Fund has been released, totaling ₹31,162,500. A separate ₹73,380,000 has been released as the Councillor Fund.
14 municipal corporations have received ₹10.12 million (12.5 million rupees) under the Mayor's Fund. 57 municipalities have received ₹11.62 million (11.62 million rupees) and 121 municipal councils have received ₹9.97 million (9.75 million rupees) as Chairman's Fund.
In the first installment of the councillor fund, 218.4 million rupees were allocated to municipal corporations, 243.45 million rupees to municipal councils, and 271.95 million rupees to town councils. People are now watching to see how much this money will accelerate ground-level development.
