00 Government's major decision on the lines of other major education boards in the country
Raipur. The School Education Department of Chhattisgarh has decided to make a historic and major change in the state's school education system. From the upcoming academic year 2027-28, the academic session in Chhattisgarh will now be conducted from April 1 to March 31 every year. Regarding this important decision, School Education Secretary Dr. Kamalpreet Singh has issued necessary guidelines by sending a letter to the Director, Directorate of Public Instruction.
Changes in the current system:
According to the issued instructions, the current academic session in the state, running from June 16 to April 30, will now be discontinued. Instead, the new session in Chhattisgarh, similar to other major education boards and boards in the country, will now begin on April 1 and run until March 31 of the following year. However, there has been no reduction in the summer vacation for students; the summer vacation from May 1 to June 15 will remain unchanged.
All facilities will be available on the very first day of the session
The department has given strict instructions to make this new change completely effective. From now on, with the start of the session on 1st April every year, organizing school admission festival, distribution of free textbooks, distribution of cycles under Saraswati Cycle Yojana, distribution of school uniforms, all other student-friendly schemes and activities will be started compulsorily.
Teaching system will be more effective
The government believes that with this system, students will be able to get all the necessary materials and facilities for studies on time from the very beginning of the academic session. This will not only save the time of the students, but the teaching system in the schools will also be able to be run in a more effective, systematic and quality manner.
