Rain breaks in Raipur, humidity rises amid dark clouds, yellow alert for rain and thunderstorms in several districts
Raipur. The pace of monsoon has slowed down in Chhattisgarh. After the good rain of the last two days, the rain has stopped in many areas including the capital Raipur, due to which the heat and humidity have increased the trouble of the people. Despite dark clouds in the sky, there was no rain at many places. According to the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of light to moderate rain in different parts of the state for the next four days. At the same time, rain with thunder and lightning, strong winds and lightning have also been predicted at some places.
On Friday, Durg recorded the state's highest maximum temperature of 34.4 degrees Celsius, while Rajnandgaon recorded the lowest minimum temperature of 23 degrees Celsius. According to meteorologists, the low pressure area over northern central Uttar Pradesh is gradually weakening. Now, a new system is expected to form in the Bay of Bengal, which is expected to revive the monsoon.
Raipur and surrounding areas are expected to experience cloudy skies, thunderstorms, and a maximum temperature of 33 degrees Celsius and a minimum of 27 degrees Celsius on Saturday. Light to moderate rain was recorded in several districts of the state on Friday. Raghunath Nagar, Kusmi, and Badebacheli received 5 centimeters of rain, while several areas, including Korba, Baikunthpur, Mungeli, Lalungha, and Premnagar, recorded 2 to 3 centimeters of rain. The Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert for Sukma, Bijapur, Dantewada, Bastar, Narayanpur, Kondagaon, Kanker, Dhamtari, Gariaband, Korba, Jashpur, Gauraula-Pendra-Marwahi, Surguja, Surajpur, Korea, and Balrampur districts for Saturday. These areas are likely to experience rain accompanied by strong winds, lightning, and thunderstorms.
