Chhattisgarh has become a new source of investment confidence, ranking first among the country's largest states in terms of ease of regulations and institutional environment.

Raipur. The impact of investor-friendly policies, good governance, and administrative reforms under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai is now clearly visible at the national level. In the CRISIL-NITI Aayog Investment Friendliness Index 2026, Chhattisgarh ranked first among 17 major states in key investment parameters such as ease of regulation and institutional environment. The state also ranked second in environmental resilience. Furthermore, as a result of growing investor confidence, Chhattisgarh has received investment proposals worth approximately ₹8 lakh crore in the last 18 months, including in future industries such as semiconductors, AI data centers, textiles, pharmaceuticals, and agro-processing.
Since assuming the reins of government, Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai has prioritized investment, industry, and employment, while placing special emphasis on making governance more transparent, simple, and accountable. This policy of creating a conducive environment for industry has resulted in Chhattisgarh achieving remarkable success in independent national-level assessments, surpassing many established industrial states. In a joint assessment by CRISIL and NITI Aayog, the state received a total score of 47.5. While Chhattisgarh ranked ninth among 17 large states in the overall ranking, it performed best in the country on key parameters related to investor confidence.
Starting a business is easier than ever.
Chhattisgarh scored 8.4 out of 12 on the ease of regulations metric, surpassing even larger states like Rajasthan, Gujarat, Punjab, and Tamil Nadu. This metric assesses the time it takes for an industry to obtain approvals, the speed with which NOCs, construction permits, electricity and water connections are available, the efficiency of commercial courts, and the simplicity of the business closure process. Ranking first in this category indicates that industries in Chhattisgarh face fewer administrative hurdles. Permissions are granted quickly, compliance costs are low, and investors receive better administrative support at every level.
A strong institutional framework has become a strength for investors.
Chhattisgarh also achieved first place among the country's large states in terms of institutional environment, scoring 4.5 out of 6. This category evaluates aspects such as quality of governance, economic crimes, cybercrime, labor disputes, policy consistency, and prompt grievance resolution. This achievement clearly demonstrates the state's stable, reliable, and investor-friendly administrative system. Industries are benefiting from policy consistency, prompt decisions, and speedy dispute resolution, strengthening long-term investment confidence.
