The life of a protected wild animal was saved due to the vigilance of the Forest Department.

Raipur, August 2026/ In accordance with the vision and sensitive initiative of Forest Minister Shri Kedar Kashyap, effective action is being taken continuously for wildlife conservation in Chhattisgarh. In this connection, the Forest Department team successfully rescued a rare wild animal, the pangolin, in Kunjntola village of Mohla tehsil of Mohla Manpur Ambagarh Chowki district and released it safely into the forest.

On Sunday, the Forest Department received information about a pangolin entering the home of Mr. Jayant Kumar, a resident of Kunjuntola village. Upon receiving the information, the Forest Department team immediately arrived at the scene and began the rescue operation with utmost caution.

Under the guidance of the Divisional Forest Officer, the rescue team, led by Range Officer Mr. Pankaj Patel, safely captured the pangolin and released it into the reserve forest area. Deputy Rangers Mr. Mahendra Baghel and Mr. Shobhit Ram Yadav also played an important role in this operation.

This rescue operation is a prime example of the Forest Department's prompt action, trained team, and sensitive approach to wildlife conservation. Timely information and coordinated efforts ensured the safe rescue of a rare and protected wildlife species.

The Forest Department has appealed to villagers to refrain from harming any wildlife they see and to immediately inform the Forest Department. With public awareness and cooperation, wildlife conservation can be more effective.

It is noteworthy that the pangolin is a highly protected species listed in Schedule 1 of the Wildlife Protection Act, 1972. The state government is particularly committed to its conservation. Under the direction of Forest Minister Shri Kedar Kashyap, the Forest Department is actively working in the areas of wildlife conservation, rapid rescue, and public awareness.
