28 vehicles chased Atiq's son Omar: Barriers were broken without paying toll, police took major action after watching CCTV.

Prayagraj News: A case was registered on Sunday against the owners of 28 vehicles, which were allegedly following the police vehicles carrying late gangster-turned-politician Atiq Ahmed's son Omar, for breaking the toll barrier and crossing the Nawabganj toll plaza without paying the fee, police said.

According to police, an FIR was registered at around 1:30 pm based on a complaint from Jai Prakash Yadav, assistant manager of the toll plaza. Police said the vehicles were identified based on their registration numbers and CCTV footage. Efforts are underway to identify the occupants and recover the outstanding toll fees, according to police. According to the complaint, the incident occurred at around 3:50 pm on Saturday when Umar was being brought to Prayagraj in police custody to attend the funeral of his younger brotherAan Ahmed.

The complaint states that after the government vehicles carrying Omar passed through toll booth number 3, around 25 to 30 private vehicles followed them. The complaint states that these private vehicles allegedly belonged to Omar's supporters. The drivers of these vehicles allegedly broke the boom barrier and sped away without paying the toll fee. The toll management has claimed financial loss due to the vehicles passing without paying the fee. Officials said that the police are examining CCTV footage and vehicle registration numbers to identify the vehicles and the people iin-la.
