AMAN SAHU CASE: Gangster Aman acquitted 1.5 years after his encounter death

Raipur. Nearly a year and a half after the death of Jharkhand's notorious gangster Aman Sahu, a court has issued a significant verdict in a Raipur case. The Third Additional District Magistrate (ADJ) Court acquitted all seven accused, including Aman Sahu, in a robbery conspiracy and extortion case registered at the Ganj police station.

The court records state "Contested-Acquitted" in the verdict, dated August 18, 2026. The prosecution failed to prove the charges of conspiracy to commit robbery, extortion, and weapons possession during the trial.

According to the defense lawyer, the evidence presented by the police regarding the conspiracy and weapons was insufficient to prove the charges. Besides Aman Sahu, Rohit Swarnkar, Mukesh Kumar, Devendra Singh, Rajber Singh, Pappu Singh, and Sunil Kumar alias Mayank Singh were also accused in the case.

Aman Sahu was killed in an encounter with Jharkhand police in March 2025. The detailed order copy of the court's decision has not yet been uploaded, so the full legal basis for the acquittal will only be clear after the order is issued.
