A 42-year-old woman riding a scooter died on the spot after being hit by a truck.
Raipur. A 42-year-old woman riding a scooter died on the spot in a road accident Wednesday morning in Metal Park, Urla police station area. Following the accident, police detained the truck driver and seized the vehicle.
According to reports, Rajeshwari Verma, wife of Kamlesh Verma, 42, a resident of Ward No. 12, Azad Nagar, Ganesh Chowk, Ravanbhatha, was riding her scooter from her home in Ravanbhatha to Metal Park at around 8 a.m. She was struck by truck number CG 04 JQ 4822.
The woman's upper body was severely crushed by the truck, causing her to die on the spot. Upon receiving information about the incident, Urla police arrived at the scene and sent the body to Mekara Hospital for a post-mortem. Police have detained the truck driver and kept the truck at the police station. A case has been registered and the cause of the accident and the circumstances surrounding the incident are being investigated.
