Passengers on the Raipur-Durg route are suffering due to train delays, with even a Member of Parliament waiting at the station; the train arrived half an hour late.

Delhi. Train delays in Chhattisgarh are troubling passengers. Trains on the Raipur-Durg and Raipur-Bilaspur routes are running hours late. This is affecting the schedules of everyone from working people to daily commuters.

The situation is such that even Korba MP Jyotsna Mahant had to wait for a train at Raipur station for about half an hour. During this time, there were no chairs available on the platform.

The MP also had to wait

On Tuesday, MP Jyotsna Mahant reached the station to catch the Durg-Udhampur Superfast train scheduled at 12:50 pm to go from Raipur to Pendra Road.

She arrived at platform number 5/6 at 12:45 pm, but the train didn't arrive on time. It arrived at 1:21 pm. She had to wait on the platform. Later, a chair was brought from a nearby food stall to accommodate her.

The 37 km journey takes 2 to 3 hours.

The distance from Raipur to Durg is approximately 37 kilometers, but due to the slow speed and delays of trains, passengers are taking two to three hours to complete the journey. The MEMU, which departs Raipur at 7:30 am, is scheduled to arrive in Durg at 8:50 am.

But on October 20th, the train arrived at 10:24 a.m., a delay of approximately 1 hour and 34 minutes. Even after this, the train continued to arrive late for several days.

Trouble on Raipur-Bilaspur route too

It's taking passengers three to four hours to travel the approximately 110 km distance from Raipur to Bilaspur. According to passenger Ajay Kaushik, he arrived at the station at 2:50 pm to travel to Bilaspur.

The train arrived at 3:56 pm and reached Bilaspur at 7:34 pm, instead of the scheduled time of 5:45 pm. This is disrupting both passengers' time and important work.
