Safe Childhood Campaign' reaches 21 schools, 42 judges educate children on their rights and safety measures
Raipur, October 28, 2026: Special programs were organized in 21 schools in Raipur to raise awareness among children about their rights and safety. As part of the "Safe Childhood Campaign," 42 judges interacted with students and informed them about child protection laws, personal safety, online vigilance, and free legal aid.
Launched on October 10, 2026, under the auspices of the National Legal Services Authority, New Delhi, the campaign aims to educate children about their rights and available sources of support. The campaign educates children about whom to contact in case of any insecurity or exploitation, how to file a complaint, and how to access free legal aid.
As part of the first phase of the campaign, awareness activities are being organized in schools in Raipur and Gariaband districts from October 26th to 31st. A district-level coordination committee has been formed, comprising the District Education Officer, Child Welfare Police Officer, Women and Child Development Department, and Cyber Crime Department. Programs are being conducted in selected schools on the instructions of District Legal Services Authority Chairman and Principal District Judge Balram Prasad Verma.
In the programs, children are being made aware of topics such as "My Childhood, My Rights," "Know the Law, Save Your Childhood," "Safe Click, Safe Childhood," "Speak, Tell, Save," and "No Child Marriage, No Child Abuse." POCSO support persons from the Women and Child Development Department, members of the Juvenile Justice Board and Child Welfare Committee, and child psychology experts are interacting with the children.
Faculty and law students from law colleges located near the schools are also participating in the campaign through activities such as street plays, quizzes, drawing, and painting. These efforts aim to create a safe environment for children and educate them about their rights and avenues for support.
Even after the campaign period, instructions have been given to organize continuous activities in schools for the intellectual and mental development of children and awareness regarding child protection.
