Use helmet in every journey, stay safe and keep your family safe: Chief Minister Shri Sai

Raipur, November 2026 / Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai today inaugurated the Helmet Bank, established by the Jashpur Police, at the Jashpur Police Lines. This innovative initiative, aimed at preventing loss of life in road accidents and raising awareness among citizens about traffic rules, has provided 1,000 helmets to the Helmet Bank. Helmets will be temporarily provided to two-wheeler riders if needed.

Chief Minister Shri Sai, while appreciating this initiative of the Jashpur Police, said that road safety is the collective responsibility of every citizen. Following traffic rules is not only a legal obligation, but also essential for the safety of oneself and one's family. He appealed to citizens to compulsorily wear helmets when driving two-wheelers and seat belts when traveling in four-wheelers.

The Chief Minister said that many people lose their lives due to serious head injuries in road accidents. Regular helmet use can significantly reduce the risk of serious injury and death in such accidents. He said that a small precaution can not only save our lives but also protect our families from irreparable harm. Therefore, every citizen should make road safety a part of their daily routine.

Chief Minister Shri Sai said that the Jashpur Police Helmet Bank is a commendable and public-friendly innovation. This initiative will not only motivate citizens to follow traffic rules but also provide practical assistance to those in need. He expressed confidence that this initiative will play a vital role in raising public awareness about road safety and developing a culture of safe traffic in the district.

Helmet Bank will provide facilities to needy citizens

The special feature of the Helmet Bank operated by Jashpur Police is that citizens who suddenly need to go out for some important work and do not have a helmet or do not have the financial means to buy one immediately will be provided with a helmet on a temporary basis. After completing their essential work, citizens will bring their own helmet and return the one provided by the police to the Helmet Bank. Additionally, they will be required to cooperate with the police in a small service related to road safety awareness.

Jashpur Police is also conducting a special campaign against those driving two-wheelers without helmets. Under this campaign, vehicles of those driving without helmets are being confiscated, and upon purchasing a new helmet and presenting its receipt, the vehicle is released without a challan. The purpose of this system is not only to take action, but also to develop the habit of regular helmet use among citizens.

Jashpur Police have pledged to ensure that every two-wheeler rider in the district uses a helmet. Launched with the message "Heltem on every head, safe you, safe family," this initiative is an effort to connect road safety with public participation.
