Bhopal Metro issues guidelines for passengers, action will be taken if rules are broken

Bhopal | Thousands of passengers travel daily on the Bhopal Metro. The Metro train has now become a vital part of the city's transportation system. Metro Rail management has issued a list of do's and don'ts for passengers. Violating Metro rules will result in action and fines.

There will be a ban on gathering of crowds

Under the Metro Railway (Operation and Maintenance) Act 2002, immoral and illegal activities, including crowding, demonstrations, sloganeering, and begging, will be prohibited on the Bhopal Metro. Failure to observe these rules on station premises and trains and violating these rules can result in a fine of ₹500 and the passenger being expelled from the train. Passengers will be prohibited from bringing pets on the train.

10,000 fine for pressing emergency alarm unnecessarily

Walking on or damaging metro tracks can result in a fine of ₹500 and six months' imprisonment. A male passenger traveling in a coach reserved for women can face a fine of up to ₹250 and three months' imprisonment. Pressing a train's emergency alarm without reason can result in a fine of up to ₹10,000. Obstructing on-duty station or train staff can result in a fine of up to ₹1,000 and a year's imprisonment.

Do's and Don'ts During the Travel

Bhopal Metro has released a list of do's and don'ts for train travel. These include standing in line, taking care of your belongings, giving way to disabled individuals, senior citizens, women, and the sick. They also include not carrying weapons, not traveling with pets, and not littering.
