Prime Minister Narendra Modi discussed the importance of solar and wind energy in his 'Mann Ki Baat' programme on Sunday. He said that solar and wind energy are essential for India's development. Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the countrymen on Sunday through the 133rd episode of the radio programme 'Mann Ki Baat'. He said, "I am happy to join you all in another episode of 'Mann Ki Baat'. While there is the hustle and bustle of elections, through your letters and messages we have also shared our happiness with each other on the achievements of the country and the countrymen. This time let us start 'Mann Ki Baat' with one such great achievement of the country."

He said, “My dear countrymen, today in 'Mann Ki Baat' I want to talk about a power that is invisible, but without which our lives cannot last even a moment. This power is propelling India forward. It is our wind power. Our ancient texts say, 'Vayurva iti vyashtih, vayuravai samashtih.' Meaning, air is not just an element; it is the energy of life, it is the power of the whole.”

In the 'Mann Ki Baat' program, PM Modi said, "Today, wind power is writing a new story of India's development. India has recently achieved a major milestone in wind energy. India's wind energy production capacity has now exceeded 56 gigawatts. Nearly 6 gigawatts of new capacity has been added in the last year alone. India is progressing rapidly in wind energy, and the world is looking towards us."

During the meeting, PM Modi, citing the examples of states like Gujarat, Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra, and Rajasthan, said, "Many states across the country are excelling in this sector. Areas like Kutch, Patan, and Banaskantha in Gujarat, which once only served as desert, are now seeing large renewable energy parks. Youth are benefiting from this. New opportunities are being created, new skills are being developed, and new avenues of employment are opening up."
