Elephants wreak havoc in Sakti district; a herd of 15 to 20 wild elephants enters the border area, creating panic among villagers.
Sakti. CG NEWS: "Breaking news is coming from the district. A large herd of elephants has been spotted in the Gram Panchayat Rishabhatirtha and Salihabhata areas. In view of the situation, the Forest Department has immediately issued an alert."
"According to information received, this herd of 15 to 20 elephants has been active in the area for the past several days. During the day, these elephants stay in the mountains, but at night, they enter the villages and cause significant damage to farmers' standing crops.
Due to this, on one hand the villagers are in panic, while on the other hand the disappointment of crop loss is clearly visible on the faces of the farmers.
The villagers have also demanded appropriate compensation from the administration for the damage caused by the elephants. Forest department teams are constantly visiting villages to alert people and are trying to drive the elephants back into the forest.
“Villagers are requested not to try to go near the elephants and immediately report any movement to the forest department or local administration.
