Raipur, Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai today attended the Gond youth-girl introduction conference organized by Chhattisgarh Gond Samaj Kalyan Samiti at Gondwana Bhawan in Tikrapara, capital Raipur. The Chief Minister was welcomed according to traditional tribal customs and he inaugurated the program with due rituals by worshipping Lord Budhadev. During this, the Chief Minister announced a grant of Rs 5 lakh to the Gond community for socio-cultural activities.

During the programme, Chief Minister Shri Sai released two important books written by Shri Vikas Markam, Chairman of Chhattisgarh Tribal Local Health Tradition and Medicinal Plant Board – “From Tribal Historical Continuity to Current Challenges” and “Respect for Heritage: Questions on Global Perspective”.

In his address, the Chief Minister stated that the Gond community has a rich and glorious history. He added that Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi is extremely sensitive to the interests of the tribal community. The proud presence of the tribal community in the highest office in the country is a direct symbol of this respect.

Chief Minister Shri Sai said that extensive work is being done for the overall development of tribal communities through the PM Janman and Pradhan Mantri Dharti Aaba Gram Utkarsh Yojanas. The government has also launched several special initiatives for the upliftment of particularly backward tribes.

Chief Minister Shri Sai stated that the state government is committed to honoring the glorious history of tribal heroes. He urged those present to visit the Tribal Museum established in Naya Raipur. He said that tribal heroes have always protected their land and culture, and the museum offers a beautiful glimpse of this glorious tradition. Shri Sai stated that Tribal Pride Day, celebrated on the birth anniversary of Lord Birsa Munda, is a powerful medium to honor the heritage of tribal society.

The Chief Minister said that such events are an important means of connecting society. They help future generations become familiar with their traditions and cultural roots. The youth-girl introduction conference plays a vital role in helping community members understand and develop relationships. He also congratulated the organizers for the successful organization of the conference.

On this occasion, Mr. Vikas Markam, Chairman of the Tribal Local Health Traditions and Medicinal Plants Board, shared his thoughts on the glorious history of the Gond community. He stated that the Gond community's history is steeped in rich traditions and tales of heroism. He explained that Gond kings have made significant contributions to governance, management, and strengthening social structures throughout history, as documented in various historical documents. Mr. Markam stated that the interests, development, and upliftment of the tribal community are being given top priority under the double-engine government. The benefits of central and state government schemes are now reaching the tribal community on a large scale. He called on the community to unite and move forward towards progress. He detailed the various activities, community efforts, and innovations undertaken by the Gond community, emphasizing that collective efforts empower a society.

On this occasion, many members of the society including President of Chhattisgarh Gond Samaj Kalyan Samiti, Mr. Jaggu Singh, Vice President Mr. Kishore Dhruv, Mr. Seva Ram Dhruv, Mr. Hari Singh Thakur were present.
