Preparations before compassionate appointment, DEO invites claim objections to avoid legal hassles
Bilaspur. Before granting compassionate appointments, the DEO has invited claims and objections. This effort is being considered to strengthen the departmental process before the matter reaches the court. The DEO has set a seven-day deadline for claims and objections. Complaints received during this period will be resolved, and only after this will the process of granting compassionate appointments to applicants be completed.
Four relatives of deceased government employees have submitted applications for compassionate appointment in the office of District Education Officer (DEO) Bilaspur, Chhattisgarh. Amidst scrutiny of the applications, the DEO has called for claims and objections regarding the applications for compassionate appointment. A deadline of seven days has been fixed for this. It has been mentioned in the claims and objections sought, if any member of the applicant's family is employed in government service or if any criminal or court case is pending against them, then information about it can be given within the said time period by sending a sealed envelope or by personally appearing in the office.
The DEO informed that from the family of late Rajaram Tengwar, working as assistant teacher in Government Advanced Primary School Bhatapara, Khamharia, his son Ritesh Kumar Tengwar has applied for compassionate appointment. Similarly, after the death of late Santosh Kumar Sahu, working as peon in Government Higher Secondary School Sirgitti, his daughter Divya Sahu, Alok Kumar Tandon, son of late Vinod Kumar Tandon working in Government Pre-Secondary School Vedparasada Vikaskhand Masturi, after the death of late Rakesh Kumar Soni, peon of SEJES Maharani Laxmi Bai School, his son Naveen Soni, resident of Sai Nagar Uslapur have submitted applications for compassionate appointment in the DEO office.
Therefore, claim-objection was invited
When a dispute arose regarding compassionate appointment, the applicant, a resident of Rajnandgaon, filed a petition in the High Court. The High Court issued a notice to the DEO asking him to submit a reply. After hearing the case, the court ordered the petitioner to be granted compassionate appointment. When the DEO's office did not take action within the stipulated time period, the petitioner filed a contempt petition accusing the then DEO of Rajnandgaon of disobeying the court order. On this, the court issued an order to initiate contempt proceedings against the concerned officer. The DEO Bilaspur's decision to seek claims and objections before the compassionate appointment is being seen as an attempt to avoid legal hassles.
