Police action against illegal paddy, 54 quintals of paddy seized.

As soon as paddy procurement began in Chhattisgarh, the activity of paddy smugglers has increased. However, the Jashpur police and administration are fully alert this time. In a major crackdown for the second time in a row, the Lodam police have seized a large consignment of paddy being illegally transported from Jharkhand.Along with the paddy procurement in Chhattisgarh, the Jashpur police and district administration have initiated strict surveillance to prevent the illegal import of paddy from border areas. Under this initiative, the Jashpur police achieved a major success in the Lodam area adjacent to the Jharkhand border. The Lodam police seized a pickup truck and an auto-rickshaw loaded with paddy being illegally transported from Jharkhand to Chhattisgarh. A total of 54 quintals of paddy was recovered from both vehicles .

According to reports, police received information from an informant that a suspicious auto-rickshaw was being driven from the village Podi route and a pickup truck loaded with paddy was being transported to Jashpur via the Turi-Lodam rural route. Police surrounded and stopped the auto-rickshaw (JH07-D-6538) and pickup (CG14-DA-2352). A search revealed 14 quintals of paddy in the auto-rickshaw and 40 quintals in the pickup truck . Both drivers were unable to produce any valid documents.
