Raipur. Under the chief patronage of Governor Ramen Deka, the foundation day of 6 states and union territories was celebrated at Raj Bhavan. On this occasion, Deka said that national unity binds the diversities of states together. Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat Abhiyan, started with the inspiration of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, is a strong symbol of this unity and cultural prosperity.
Speaking at the foundation day celebrations held at the Chhattisgarh Mandapam in Raj Bhavan, Governor Ramen Deka said on the occasion of the foundation day of the states and union territories of Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Delhi, Uttarakhand, Lakshadweep and Puducherry that despite differences in languages, costumes, food habits, art and traditions, our soul is one. This diversity makes India unique in the world. Under the Ek Bharat-Shrestha Bharat program of the Central Government, all states celebrate each other's foundation day to promote the spirit of unity in diversity. In this series, the foundation day of these states was celebrated with great enthusiasm at the Chhattisgarh Mandapam in Raj Bhavan today.

The Governor stated that India is not merely a geographical entity but a vibrant confluence of thousands of years of civilization, culture, tradition, and values. Mr. Deka highlighted the characteristics of various states. He stated that the state of Karnataka is a confluence of ancient heritage and modern technology. Just as the Vijayanagara Empire elevated art and architecture in the past, Bengaluru has today become India's IT hub. Karnataka is rich in natural beauty and culture, as well as language and literature. 
Sangam literature enriched Indian knowledge.
The Governor stated that Tamil Nadu is the center of India's Dravidian civilization. This land of Tamil Nadu, one of India's oldest languages, is world-renowned for its magnificent temple architecture, Bharatanatyam dance, music, and rich literary tradition. Texts like Sangam literature and Thirukkural have enriched Indian knowledge. Tamil Nadu plays a leading role in the country's progress. The state has made significant contributions to the Indian freedom struggle. After Karnataka, Tamil Nadu is the largest information technology (IT) development region in the country.
Our buildings symbolize our nation's pride.
The Governor said that Delhi is not only our capital but also the heart of the country. It is the land where history has taken a turn. India's history breathes in its streets, whether it is the story of ancient Indraprastha or the freedom struggle of modern India. The Red Fort, Qutub Minar, Parliament House, India Gate—these are not just buildings but symbols of our nation's pride. Cultural diversity is visible in every street and neighborhood. 
Uttarakhand and Chhattisgarh are states rich in natural wealth 
. Deka said that Uttarakhand and Chhattisgarh were established simultaneously. Both states share many similarities, including a large portion of their population living in rural areas, and agriculture is their primary source of livelihood. Uttarakhand is characterized by its Himalayan peaks, rivers, and dense forests, while Chhattisgarh is also a state rich in forests, rivers, mountains, and natural wealth. Both states face similar challenges for sustainable development and ecological balance.

The Governor stated that Puducherry is renowned for its French architecture, spiritual atmosphere, and cultural syncretism. In ancient times, Puducherry was a major trade hub with France. Today, many tourists visit to witness its beautiful beaches and glimpses of that civilization. Lakshadweep, a precious island group located in the Indian Ocean, is known for its blue waters, clean beaches, and rich biodiversity. Today, when the entire world is grappling with the challenge of environmental crisis, the lifestyle of Lakshadweep inspires us to live in balance with nature. 
Diversity is India's true strength.
The Governor stated that the diversity of all these regions is India's true strength. The Ek Bharat Shreshtha program is a powerful means to strengthen this spirit. Today, as the country moves towards the goal of a self-reliant India, a developed India by 2047, we must further strengthen the contributions of these states and union territories. He urged people to do at least one act that serves humanity. He also shared messages about the environment and cleanliness.

Representatives from various states and union territories highlighted the specialities, traditions and culture of their states. Secretary to the Governor, Dr. C.R. Yakshagana (Yakshagana) from Karnataka, folk dances from Tamil Nadu, Punjab folk dances from Delhi, Gaupati folk dance from Uttarakhand, Chhadi dance from Lakshadweep and Gardi dances from Puducherry captivated the guests. 
The Governor presented State Gamchha and mementos to the representatives of the states. The
representatives from various states were also honoured by presenting mementos to the Governor on behalf of their states. MLA Purandar Mishra, Mayor Mrs. Meenal Choubey, Secretary to the Governor, Dr. C.R. Other officials including Prasanna and youth, women and dignitaries from all these states were present in large numbers.
