Raipur - Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai, on the occasion of International Day of Persons with Disabilities, stated that persons with disabilities are an integral part of our society. The Chhattisgarh government is committed to their empowerment. Chief Minister Shri Sai stated that International Day of Persons with Disabilities provides an opportunity for society to understand that persons with disabilities are not inferior in any way. He stated that a strong and progressive society is one that provides equal opportunities to all and does not hold anyone back due to their physical limitations. Chief Minister Shri Sai stated that the state government is continuously taking concrete steps to ensure the rights, respect, and self-reliance of persons with disabilities. Numerous schemes are being vigorously implemented in Chhattisgarh to provide education, health care, assistive devices, skill development, employment opportunities, social security, and create a conducive environment. He stated that the government's objective is to ensure equal and empowered participation of persons with disabilities in the mainstream, so that they can actively contribute to the state's development to their full potential. The Chief Minister called upon all sections of society to bring about a positive change in their attitudes towards persons with disabilities and to treat them with respect, cooperation, and sensitivity. He said that persons with disabilities will only be truly empowered when society and government work together to create conditions in which each individual can progress according to their abilities. The Chief Minister said that International Day of Persons with Disabilities sends a message to further strengthen our commitment to inclusive development.
