A woman died after being burned in a fire. She had lit a bonfire to protect herself from the cold, but her hut was also reduced to ashes.

Baloda Bazar:  A tragic incident occurred in Baloda Bazar, Chhattisgarh. A woman's attempt to protect herself from the cold by lighting a bonfire proved costly when her hut caught fire (Alav Se Jhopdi Me Lagi Aag), resulting in her death. Police have launched an investigation into the matter.

Woman dies after being caught in fire

This entire incident occurred in the Suhela police station area. A woman had resorted to a bonfire to protect herself from the cold. However, as soon as she fell asleep, the bonfire engulfed the entire hut, resulting in her death. Police arrived at the scene after receiving information and have sent her body for post-mortem and have begun an investigation.

According to reports, the deceased has been identified as Asha Bai, a scrap picker who lived in a roadside hut in Suhela village. On Wednesday night, she lit a bonfire in her hut to protect herself from the cold. As she fell asleep, the bonfire engulfed the entire hut. She was also burned to death in the flames.

Police engaged in further action

On Thursday morning, when people noticed smoke coming out of the hut after the fire, they informed the police. Police arrived at the scene immediately, took possession of the partially burned body, and sent it for a post-mortem examination. They are also investigating the matter and questioning people.

Blanket catches fire from bonfire

It should be noted that a tragic incident had also occurred in Korba district earlier this year. A blanket caught fire from a bonfire, resulting in burns to an elderly man. He was hospitalized and later died during treatment.

This incident occurred in Badmar village, within the Kartala police station area. The deceased was identified as Manshidas Mahant (72), a resident of Badmar. On the evening of November 17th, Manshidas Mahant was warming himself around a bonfire with his family. After warming themselves, the family went to sleep. Manshidas Mahant spread a mat and covered himself with a blanket. Meanwhile, the blanket caught fire, burning the elderly man. Hearing his cries, other family members rushed out. However, by then, the elderly man had suffered 80 percent burns and was completely engulfed in flames. Family members managed to extinguish the fire with a sheet. He was immediately rushed to the hospital, where he died during treatment.
