Watershed Festival: Make Reel, Get Prize Competition on Water Harvesting....
Raipur: The Department of Land Resources, Government of India, in collaboration with the State Government, is organizing the Watershed Festival under the Prime Minister Agricultural Irrigation Scheme – Watershed Development Component from November 19 to December 19, 2025. Organized as a nationwide campaign, various competitions along with labor donation, inauguration, Bhoomi Pujan, awareness programs are being organized at the project level in Jashpur district under this festival.
A state-level social media competition is also being organized as part of the Watershed Festival. Four reel winners will receive prizes of ₹50,000 each, and 100 photography winners will receive ₹1,000 each. Three of the four winning reels will be based on water harvesting structures built in the project area, while one will be based on horticulture and agroforestry activities. This competition will be held until December 31, 2025.

Participants can create a 30- to 60-second reel or captioned photo showcasing water harvesting structures such as check dams, stop dams, drain bunds, ponds, community ponds, loose boulder gabion structures, etc. They can also include horticulture, plantation, or agricultural activities developed under central and state government schemes. Participants must use the designated hashtag #WDC.PMKSY.WatershedMahotsav.2025 when posting their content on social media.

During registration, participants must also upload a link to their social media post on the Festival portal, after which they will receive an email confirming their successful registration. After the contest period ends, by January 31, 2026, at 6 p.m., participants must submit a screenshot of their post's reach, views, engagement, likes, and comments to the portal. Participants must prepare a 30-60 second reel or photo with a caption and post it on social media. Content should include water conservation structures and agricultural and horticultural activities developed under WDC.PMKSY 1.0 and WDC.PMKSY 2.0. Participants must then post the content using the designated hashtag and upload the link to the Mahotsav portal. Upon completion of the registration process, participants will receive a confirmation email.
