Raipur: Preparations for the Republic Day celebrations complete . Raipur: Preparations for the main Republic Day celebrations to be held on January 26th in the capital, Raipur, have been completed. This grand ceremony will be held at the Police Parade Ground, Raipur, starting at 9 a.m., where Governor Ramen Deka will hoist the flag and take the salute at the joint parade. The full-dress final rehearsal for the Republic Day celebrations was held today at the Police Parade Ground, where preparations for the march-past, medal presentations, guard of honor, and cultural programs were finalized. During the rehearsal, all activities were conducted according to the prescribed minute-by-minute schedule.
Senior officials, including Director General of Police Arundev Gautam, Raipur Police Commissioner Sanjeev Shukla, Collector Dr. Gaurav Singh, Municipal Corporation Commissioner Vishwadeep, and District Panchayat CEO Kumar Biswaranjan, were present. The Governor's Security Officer, DSP Girish Kori, assumed the role of the Governor and reviewed the security and event arrangements.
A grand parade of 17 contingents showcased the might of the security forces.
The Republic Day parade 2026 will showcase the nation's security, discipline, and unity. This year, contingents from 17 security forces will participate in the parade. These include contingents from the Border Security Force, Central Reserve Police Force, Indo-Tibetan Border Force, Central Industrial Security Force, and Sashastra Seema Bal, along with various central and state security forces. Contingents from the Uttar Pradesh Police, Chhattisgarh Armed Forces (men and women), Chhattisgarh Police (men), Jail Police (men), City Army (men and women), and NCC Boys and Girls will grace the parade. Elaborate performances by the cavalry, band platoon, and dog squad will further enhance the spectacle. Additional Director General of Police Vivekanand Sinha is in charge of the entire parade. He is assisted by Inspector General of Police Shri B.S. Dhruv (IPS), Deputy Inspector General of Police Shri Sadanand Kumar (IPS), and Commandant Shri Om Prakash Sharma.
The dog squad will be a special attraction of the ceremony.
During the rehearsal, the 12-member police dog squad captivated everyone with their discipline, agility, and efficiency. These brave dogs play a vital role in investigating serious crimes like murder, theft, robbery, and drug trafficking. Their impressive performance effectively showcased the Chhattisgarh Police Dog Squad's high-level training capabilities, professional competence, and national achievements.
Cultural presentations will showcase a developed India and a glimpse of patriotism.
School students will give patriotic cultural presentations during the Republic Day celebrations. Students from various schools across the state will bring alive the vision of culture, women power, youth strength and a developed India through dance and music. Attractive presentations will be given
in the programme on the themes of Developed India, Growing India by Kasturba Gandhi Residential Girls School, Surguja, Jaitu Jaitu Bharat by Shivom Vidyapeeth, Sankara (Durg) and Aarambh Hai Prachand by PG Umathe Government Girls English Medium School of Excellence, Shanti Nagar (Raipur).
