Over 1,000 people performed yoga on International Yoga Day in the presence of Revenue Minister Shri Tank Ram Verma
Raipur, On the occasion of International Yoga Day, a grand district-level yoga program was held at the Agricultural Produce Market Complex in Sarangarh. This year, the camp, themed "Yoga 365 Days Embrace Yoga" and "Yoga for Aging Health," was attended by State Revenue and Higher Education Minister Shri Tank Ram Verma as the chief guest. The program began with traditional solemnity by lighting a lamp in front of the images of Lord Dhanvantari and Chhattisgarh Mata.
Administrative and political officials were present at the event. Chief guest Shri Tank Ram Verma was joined by the Collector, Superintendent of Police, District Panchayat Chairperson, former MLA Kerabai Manhar, Barmkela District Chairperson, and approximately 1,000 citizens, including several local representatives, officials, journalists, and schoolchildren, who practiced various yoga poses and pranayama.
Reading of PM Modi's message and signature campaign
During the program, Revenue Minister Shri Tank Ram Verma read Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi's message of building a "healthy nation." He congratulated the gathering and urged them to pledge to regularly practice yoga. A special signature campaign was also launched on this occasion to raise awareness about yoga, in which the Minister, Collector, Superintendent of Police, public representatives, and conscious citizens signed.
A wonderful combination of yoga and dance
The main attraction of this district level Yoga Day was the dance style yoga performance by the children. After the main session, under the guidance of Yoga teacher (Vyayam Shikshak) Mamta Sahu, the children of Simmi Yoga and Fitness Center, the team of Yogacharya Subhash Patel and Yogini Academy of Sariya gave a spectacular group yoga posture performance on devotional songs including 'Shri Ramchandra'. Along with this, Sakshi Patel presented the most difficult yoga postures on a solo song with ease and received a lot of applause from the chief guest and the people present.
Disciplined participation and inspiring moments
Members of Bharat Scouts, Junior Red Cross and NSS played an active role in making the event a success. The disciplined and energetic participation of these school and college students spread the message of yoga to every section of the society.
An emotional and inspiring moment in the program was witnessed when the parents and relatives of Mamta Sahu, the main yoga teacher who was teaching yoga to more than a thousand citizens from the stage, also joined the camp. Her parents were overwhelmed by their daughter's excellent leadership and the state-level recognition she was receiving. This unique event gave an invaluable message of health and unity to the citizens of Sarangarh-Bilaigarh district.
