Raipur / On the occasion of International Olympic Day, Chief Minister Shri Vishnudev Sai participated in the tree plantation and sportsperson felicitation ceremony organized by the Chhattisgarh Olympic Association in village Palod of Nava Raipur and planted a Rudraksh tree. On this occasion, he extended International Olympic Day greetings to the state's players, coaches and sports lovers and described sports and environmental protection as two important pillars of nation building.

Chief Minister Shri Sai said that India has submitted its bid to host the 2036 Olympic Games. To symbolically express this national resolve and aspiration, 2036 saplings are being planted at the event. He said that this is not just a tree-planting campaign, but also a pledge to build a healthy, green, and strong India for future generations.

The Chief Minister said that the Chhattisgarh government is constantly striving to promote sports talent and elevate them to national and international platforms. A better environment and modern infrastructure for sports is being developed in the state so that youth can fully showcase their talents.

He said that Chhattisgarh has the honor of successfully hosting the Khelo India National Tribal Games. Innovative events like the Bastar Olympics have given new recognition to sports talent from remote areas. This year, millions of youth participated in the Bastar Olympics, showcasing their potential, a testament to the growing enthusiasm for sports in the state.

Chief Minister Shri Sai said that the state government is making special budget provisions in the sports sector to encourage athletes. Additionally, arrangements have been made to provide respectable incentives to outstanding athletes, so that they can bring glory to the country and state with greater confidence and energy.

On this occasion, the Chief Minister honoured the players, coaches and Forest Department players who performed excellently in various sports disciplines and wished them a bright future.

Deputy Chief Minister Shri Arun Sao said that Chhattisgarh has no shortage of sports talent. Under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai, the state government is taking new initiatives to promote sports. He said that under the guidance of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, schemes like Khelo India have given a new identity to the sports culture in the country.

Forest Minister Shri Kedar Kashyap stated that the state's youth possess immense talent, and the government is providing every possible opportunity to advance them. He added that after the success of the Bastar Olympics, the Surguja Olympics are also providing a new direction for the youth. Referring to the "Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam" campaign, he called for more tree planting.

Skill Development Minister Shri Guru Khushwant Saheb, General Secretary of Chhattisgarh Olympic Association Dr. Vikram Singh Sisodiya, Principal Chief Conservator of Forests Shri Arun Kumar Pandey, BSF IG Shri Sanjay Pant along with many public representatives, players, trainers and dignitaries were present in the program.
