More than 11 lakh Prime Minister's houses completed after the formation of the government

Raipur, Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai participated in the programme organised today at Deendayal Upadhyay Auditorium in Raipur regarding completion of more than 11 lakh Prime Minister's houses after the formation of the government in the state and the remarkable achievements of the 'More Village-More Water' Maha Abhiyan. On this occasion, Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai honoured 11 beneficiaries by giving them symbolic keys of their new houses on the occasion of completion of 11 lakh houses and released a compendium based on the excellent works of the "More Village-More Water" Maha Abhiyan.
It is noteworthy that the state government, in its first cabinet meeting immediately after its formation, decided to release funds for 1.8 million Prime Minister's houses. Subsequently, as a result of sustained efforts, over 1.1 million Prime Minister's houses have been completed in the state in the last two and a half years. Of these, nearly 600,000 houses were completed in the last financial year, marking the highest number of housing completions in a single year in the country. In the first 100 days of the current financial year (April 1 to July 9), 151,000 houses have been completed. This means that on average, over 1,500 houses are being completed every day in the state.
A booklet highlighting the outstanding achievements of the "More Village-More Water" campaign was released at the event. It is noteworthy that this campaign was launched on April 24, 2025, on the occasion of Panchayati Raj Day. Under this public participation-based campaign, more than one lakh water conservation and water enrichment projects are being approved and implemented through the former Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA) and the current VB-Jiramji, at a cost of over 2,000 crore rupees. Under the campaign, water conservation, groundwater enrichment, and rural livelihoods are being given a new direction by constructing various water structures, including livelihood ponds, new drains, and contour trenches.
Deputy Chief Minister and Panchayat and Rural Development Minister Shri Vijay Sharma, Women and Child Development Minister Smt. Laxmi Rajwade, Skill Development and Technical Education Minister Shri Guru Khuswant Saheb, Chairman of Chhattisgarh Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board Dr. Rampratap Singh, District Panchayat Chairman Shri Naveen Kumar Agarwal, Additional Chief Secretary of Panchayat and Rural Development Department Smt. Richa Sharma, Director of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana Gramin Shri Taran Prakash Sinha along with public representatives, officials and a large number of beneficiaries were present in the programme.
