Speed up development and rehabilitation work in Naxal-affected districts: Vijay Sharma
A meeting will be held every week to withdraw the case, and a team of government lawyers will be formed.
Raipur. Dputy Chief Minister and Home Minister Vijay Sharma, during a review meeting of the police department held at the Secretariat, directed the acceleration of relief, rehabilitation, and development work in Naxal-affected areas. He said that the cases of those accused imprisoned in Naxal cases, against whom there are no cases of serious loss of life, should be legally reviewed and necessary action should be taken in the process of release. For this, a team of prosecutors and lawyers will be formed with the assistance of the Law Department to discuss the withdrawal of cases. Additionally, a review meeting on the progress of the case will be held every week in the District Superintendent of Police's office related to the case. He said that in Naxal cases where there has been no loss of life, the release of Naxal accused imprisoned in jail is essential.
Villages that are highly Naxal-affected will receive Rs 1 crore.
Tiranga Yatra in all Naxal-free villages by 15th August:
The Deputy Chief Minister directed that the tricolor will be hoisted in all Naxal-free villages on 15th August 2026, so that the message of national unity, trust and public participation will reach every village.
Victims and rehabilitated families should get the benefit of housing scheme.
In the meeting, the Deputy Chief Minister directed that all Naxalite affected and rehabilitated families should be provided housing under the special provisions of the Prime Minister's Housing Scheme. Community memorials should also be constructed in areas where major Naxalite incidents have taken place so that the memories of the martyrs and victims can be respected. He took information about the cases of soldiers and civilians martyred in Naxalite incidents, the assistance provided to their families and the pending cases, district-wise. He said that all the prescribed facilities of the government should be made available to the families of the martyrs on time and there should be no delay at any level.
The incentive amount announced for the rehabilitated will be paid within one month.
The Deputy Chief Minister directed that the announced incentives be paid to rehabilitated youth within the next month, following the rehabilitation policy. He also directed that information be entered into a dashboard prepared for the facilities provided to Naxal victims and rehabilitated individuals. He directed that an interstate committee be formed to collate the recovery of weapons looted by Maoists and ensure that no weapons are left behind in the forest.
Principal Secretary Niharika Singh Barik, Secretary Mrs. Neha Champawat, ADG Vivekananda Sinha along with senior officers of Home Department, Police Department and concerned districts were present in the meeting.
